Our HISTORY

The Beginning of the EntiretyK12 Story

EntiretyK12 (originally Therapy Beat) was founded by Dr. Penny Bison in 2010 in Brooksville, FL. Penny spent her years prior to opening EntiretyK12 as a Speech and Language Pathologist and a dance teacher. She always had a passion for students and giving people the best opportunity at being their best self.

Our HISTORY

Growing a Vision for Whole Child Education

What once started as a very small school with only a few students and 3 teachers, has grown into the EntiretyK12 we know and love today. The current building, originally a dance studio and storage unit facility, was transformed year by year to serve the growing class sizes and student needs. Ms. Penny always desired for EntiretyK12 to be a safe space for students to learn not only academics, but important life lessons and skills along the way. EntiretyK12 has many unique services and procedures, from Talents & Tools to Personal Development Trips. EntiretyK12 has thrived and led the way in Whole Child Learning for the last 15 years.

Our HISTORY

Honoring Ms. Penny’s Legacy, Continuing the Mission

Unfortunately, Ms. Penny unexpectedly passed away in December of 2024 leaving behind an incredible program and legacy. EntiretyK12 is now owned by her son, Zach Sullivan, and his wife, Allie Sullivan. Together they are continuing to provide students with personalized education and a safe space to learn and grow into the amazing humans they are.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a school for students with disabilities?

EntiretyK12 is a typical education private school. However, students with high functioning differences do function well due to our individualized learning strategies and smaller class sizes.

Do you provide therapeutic services for students with disabilities?

At this time we do not offer any therapeutic services, as we do not have any therapists on staff.

Why do students not wear shoes in the building?

The reason for students going barefoot or socks is multifaceted.

Students aren’t focused on their feet being too hot, or shoes being uncomfortable, they’re able to focus on learning!

It helps to keep dirt and unwanted germs out of the building.

Research proves we learn better when our feet are free and able to feel the ground beneath us!

How large are your class-sizes?

All of our class sizes are limited to 12 students per learning group.

Is EntiretyK12 accredited?

We are not accredited at this time. The FL DOE does not recognize or regulation any private accreditation companies as stated here: https://www.fldoe.org/schools/school-choice/private-schools/accreditation.stml

Accreditation is costly with little return, which is why we have chosen to forgo the accreditation process at this time.  This allows us to keep our tuition at a more reasonable rate for our families and students.

Since  you are not accredited, do your credit hours or High School diploma count elsewhere?

Yes! Regardless of accreditation status all of our class credits and diplomas are transferable and valid at other learning institutions including state universities and colleges.

Do you offer school tours?

We do not offer tours during school hours for the safety of our students. We are able to schedule tours over 5-day breaks, by appointment only. We also invite you to our Annual Art Gallery for a full school walkthrough, meet our teachers, and see what our students have been working on!

Does my student have to take dance?

Dance is a requirement for students K-5. For grades 6-12 it is offered as an optional elective credit. Dance especially for younger students is proven to help students with their brain’s ability to organize learning pathways. Opening up their ability to process language and problem solving more effectively and efficiently. It is also an incredible way to improve balance and gross motor skills. EntiretyK12’s founder Penny Bison, created her own Internationally Recognized Dance Therapy program called Reading in Rhythm which is the basis which EntiretyK12 was created. We promise all dances to be age appropriate and fun!

What is the cleaning policy at EntiretyK12?

We believe cleaning is a skill that is learned, which is why we involve our students in the daily upkeep at eK12. Students are each assigned a class job to complete at the end of the day from wiping door handles to learning how to sweep and vacuum properly. For our older students, we assign rotating “House Jobs” which are more skilled tasks such as mopping the hallway, taking out trash, or cleaning the windows. All cleaning products are safe and natural for students to use. This ensures your children are learning to be a helpful part of our community without any worries of being exposed to toxins.

Do you have a sick policy in place?

Yes, students and staff are not permitted to return to school until they are  >24hours fever fee and >48 hours vomit free. Students will be sent home if they present with a fever, vomiting, or other major illnesses.

We believe each student learns differently, there is no good “one size fits all curriculum”.  For this reason we do not follow a singular book curriculum, instead, we work tirelessly with each of our teachers to create an individualized curriculum for each learning group according to how those students learn, comprehend, and retain information best.
